Arisia '04 Hotel Information

Arisia '04 will again be at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel, in the heart of downtown Boston.

The Park Plaza has a large diversity of room sizes and types, so room rates are based upon the size and type of room, rather than on the number of people in the room. Note that the larger (nicer) rooms, and rooms with two double beds tend to sell out quickly, so please plan accordingly.

Room Reservations

       Verify your room reservations and blocking after you have made a reservation and received a confirmation number.

Room Types and Rates

$79 Main Single - Small room with a single bed. Limited floor space.
$79 Main Parlor - Usually available only as part of a suite. Has a sofa-bed, tables, chairs plus a bathroom.
$99 Main Queen - Regular room with a queen-sized bed. Some can hold cots.
$119 Main King - Regular room with a king-sized bed. Some can hold cots.
$119 Main Double - Regular room with two double beds. Can hold one cot easily, some can hold two cots.
$127 Suite King - Usually available only as part of a suite. Similar to a Main King but slightly nicer.
$139 Handicapped King - Executive King type room converted for handicapped use. Very large room, one huge bathroom.
$139 Executive King - Very large room, king bed, two bathrooms. Quiet/Smoking blocks only.
$139 Family Double - Very large room, two double beds, two bathrooms. Quiet/Smoking blocks only.
$139 Junior Suite - Huge room with king-sized bed and extra furniture. Quiet/Smoking blocks only.
$225 One-Bedroom Suite - King room, separate parlor room with fold-out sofa bed. Quiet/Smoking blocks only.
$295 Two-Bedroom Suite - Two bedrooms plus separate parlor room. Quiet/Smoknig blocks only.

Room Blocks

Quiet Block - Non-party floors.
Smoking Block - There is one smoking floor, which is shared with non-Arisia hotel guests. Strictly a quiet floor.
Party Block - Party and Dealers Row floors.
Party Host Block - A limited number of rooms in the Party Area especially appropriate for parties. You must email the Arisia Party Czar to communicate the room type, size, and other needs of your party and be allocated one of these rooms.
Shabbat Block - A limited number of rooms for attendees with special religious restrictions. This block is on the lowest (fifth) floor, but rooms are near Children's Programming, 5th Floor Program Rooms, and Dealer's Row. Can be very very loud in the mornings...
Dealer's Row Block - Sales rooms (not sleeping rooms) used by dealer's on Dealer's Row. You might be a registered dealer approved by the Dealer's Liaison to be assigned one of these.
Staff Block - Reserved for our hardworking loyal staff. These rooms are hidden in a double-secret area of the hotel.

Hotel Reservation Policies

To make a reservation, fill out the enclosed form, mail it to the hotel, or fax it to the hotel at 617-423-1708. Please do not call the hotel directly to make a reservation; if you do, you will end up talking to Starwood Hotels Central Reservations and your reservation will not be processed properly.

To receive convention rate, reservations should be made by 4 PM January 9, 2004. Reservations received after that date will be accepted only on a space available basis. All room types are a request and can not be guaranteed. Assignment of room types is based on a first reserved, first served basis; room types are in limited quantity and may not be available in each block. ALL ROOM ASSIGNMENTS WILL BE MADE BY ARISIA. Once your room has been confirmed, the hotel will send you a confirmation via US Mail. You may verify your assigned room type and block on Arisia's web site (www.arisia.org/hotel), using your confirmation number and last name. Send email to the Arisia Innkeeper with questions or concerns about your hotel reservation. Send email to the Arisia Hotel Liaison with any general hotel (non-reservation) concerns or questions you may have.

Rates

Rates range from $79 - $295 per night plus 12.45% tax, depending on room type. You will be informed of your rate when you receive your confirmation letter, approximately 3 weeks after your room registration form is received by the hotel. If the requested room type is not available, you will be confirmed at an alternate (usually cheaper) rate and wait-listed for your preferred room type and rate. If your preferred room type becomes available later, your reservation and rate will be automatically adjusted to your original request.

Please note there are sometimes delays as Arisia processes reservations. We try to adjust block sizes as reservations arrive to give as many people as possible their first choice. It is our plan to try and ensure that everyone will get either their first or second choice room. The few exceptions are usually where a second choice was not specified, or both the first and second choice are Suites and/or Family Doubles.

In the case where you cannot get your first request - if the request is for a King the reservation is blocked into an Executive King or Main Queen unless otherwise indicated for a second choice. Family Double requests that cannot be satisfied are normally blocked in a Main Double unless the second choice specifies another available type. For a Suite request, the next best thing is usually an Executive King.

Cots (Rollaway Beds) and Cribs

If you need a cot for an extra person, and you inform us now by checking the box on the registration form, the charge will be $20. The charge for cots requested at check-in will be $30 subject to availability. There is no charge for cribs, subject to availability. Please check the box on the registration form if you need a crib.

Changes and Cancellations

To change or cancel a reservation, please email the hotel at park-plaza@arisia.org, or call 617-457-2435 (This phone number only for Arisia Park Plaza changes.) Changes to a room type will be honored subject to availability. All changes must be received by 4PM on January 9, 2004. Cancellations must be made by 6PM on the day of arrival to avoid a one night charge of room and tax.
