The various codes listed in the Park Plaza room list mostly came from a raw data dump from the hotel's housekeeping computer. Many of the codes haven't been used that much and people have forgotten their meaning. If it's not listed below then I was unable to determine what it was (despite talking to everyone who should know). Room types (recently changed when the PP adopted Starwood standard room types). SS - Standard Single (formally MS - Main or Airline Single) SQ - Standard Queen (formally MQ - Main Queen, normal room, Queen bed) TQ - Towers Queen (nicer room, queen bed, on 15th floor) SK - Standard King (formally MK - Main King, single room king bed) TK - Towers King (formally MK or EK, nicer room, king bed, on the 15th floor) DK - Deluxe King (formally EK - Executive King, most have two bathrooms) AK - Access King (formally HK - Handicapped King, DK with one large bathroom) SD - Standard Double (formally MD - Main Double, two double beds) TD - Towers Double (nicer room, two double beds, 15th floor) DD - Deluxe Double (formally FS - Family Double, all have two bathrooms) JQ - Junior Suite Queen (formally JS - Junior Suite) JK - Junior Suite King (formally JS - Junior Suite) GS - Presidential or Garden Suite (fromally the General Manager's Suite) SP - Standard Parlor (formally MP - Main Parlor, living room half of a suite) na - not in use any more (SK - Suite King, all turned into SK or DK's) All suite rooms are defined with above tupes, look for adjoining SP. Smoking - The smoking floor is the center and north wing of the 6th floor. (*usually*... sometimes the hotel chooses to temporarily make other parts of the hotel a smoking area.) Relative Size - This code didn't come from the hotel. Instead many years ago we sat down with hotel old-timers, then went thru the entire list of hotel rooms along with floor plans and compared sizes. The purpose of this was to enable the Arisia reservations assignment software to know which rooms were bigger then other rooms WITHIN THE SAME ROOM TYPE. That way when creating room assignments the reservations software could try and be smart about blocking when looking at the size of a party, how many cots they've asked for, etc, etc. The only thing you can assume about this code is that a SD with a size of "4" has more square footage then an SD with a size of "3", etc. The software actually had rules as to how many cots could fit into each size room of each type, but don't ask me to remember them. Connecting Door Type - Either interior or exterior (ie with a common foyer). Connecting Rooms - The rooms that this room has connecting door with. Bathroom Configuration - Number and type of bath rooms. I've never actually verified this data so don't ask me what each means. Use common sense. Sofabeds - Number of sofabeds in the room (if any). View - Does the window face out looking over the city or inside looking over parts of the hotel? Misc - DK-Room has a desk, AC-Individual AC controls, QU-Room located at the end of a cooridor which should be quiet, SW-Room located near a stairwell, CL-Room has a closet (or maybe large closet?), VE-Room has a nice view, DIS-?, K-?, SO-?, CO-?, IT-?, PV-?, numbers-? (If you figure any of these out please tell Skip.)
